Investigation Contents of Forest Area

Accordingly, Circular 33 stipulates the contents of forest area investigation as follows:

- Investigation of the area of primary natural forest, secondary natural forest;- Investigation of the area of mountainous forest on soil, rock mountain forest, forest on wetland, and forest on sand;- Investigation of the area of planted forest by tree species and age;- Investigation of the area under regeneration enclosure, newly planted area that has not yet become a forest, and other areas being used for forest protection and development;- Investigation of the area of forest states according to forest owners and administrative units.

At the same time, Circular 33 also specifically lists the methods of forest area investigation as follows:

- Investigation of forest area is conducted according to the forest state plot;- Interpretation of remote sensing images; preparation of forest status interpretation maps using specialized software;- Supplemental investigation of the status of forest state plots in the field;- Editing, finalizing forest status maps, and calculating the area of forest state plots using specialized software.

The results of forest area investigation and evaluation include:

- Forest status maps as required by the investigation content ensuring compliance with the legal regulations on maps;- System of raw investigation data, aggregated data;- Report on the results of forest area investigation and evaluation.
