Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of BLDTBXH stipulates the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of health and social services, issued on December 28, 2018.

Under regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies that learners must gain after graduating from intermediate and college levels in nursing, issued together with Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, intermediary level nursing is a profession concerned with patient health care, tasked with addressing the basic physical and mental needs of patients, and meeting level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
A nursing professional is responsible for the care and health status check of patients; directly monitoring and supporting the patient throughout the therapy process. The scope of a nursing professional’s work varies depending on the medical facility and job position. However, the common primary duties in the nursing profession include: welcoming nursing, administrative nursing, care nursing, rehabilitation nursing, nutritional nursing, and community nursing.
To practice, a nurse must be in good health, possess ethical conduct, have sufficient knowledge of politics, law, professional expertise, and communication skills relevant to the job position. Additionally, a nurse must continuously engage in learning to improve professional qualifications, foreign languages, expand social knowledge; cultivating meticulousness and respect for the individual characteristics of patients.
Notably, the minimum knowledge volume is 1,700 hours (equivalent to 60 credits).
