Introduction to the Engineering of Telecommunications Station Installation (intermediate level) in Vietnam

On February 10, 2019, Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam will come into effect. It stipulates the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, and telecommunications in Vietnam.

According to the Regulations on Minimum Knowledge Volume, Competency Requirements that learners in Vietnam must achieve after graduating from intermediate level, college level in the Telecommunications Station Installation Engineering industry issued with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the Telecommunications Station Installation Engineering at the intermediate level is a profession where the practitioner operates 2G, 3G, 4G mobile networks, configures Switch, Router, GPON, etc., analyzes, designs, installs, maintains, and repairs mobile broadcasting station systems, meeting the requirements of level 4 in the National Qualifications Framework of Vietnam.

A Telecommunications Station Installation Engineer works in positions: installing infrastructure for telecommunications stations; installing transmission for telecommunications stations; installing telecommunications equipment for telecommunications stations; maintaining telecommunications stations; repairing telecommunications stations; analyzing and designing network systems; installing network systems; and maintaining network systems.

Minimum Knowledge Volume: 1,600 hours (equivalent to 57 credits).

Additionally, after graduation, the learner has the competency to meet job position requirements in the industry, including:

- Installing infrastructure for telecommunications stations;

- Installing transmission for telecommunications stations;

- Installing telecommunications equipment for telecommunications stations;

- Maintaining telecommunications stations;

- Installing network systems.

Besides, the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating in the Telecommunications Station Installation industry at the intermediate level can continue to develop at higher levels. After graduation, learners have the capability for self-study, self-update of scientific and technological advancements within the industry to enhance their qualifications or transfer to higher levels in the same industry or related industry or training field.
