Recently, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH which stipulates the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels for disciplines and professions in the fields of computers, information technology, and technical technology.
Introduction to the college-level program of metal casting technology in Vietnam (Illustrative Image)
in the Regulations issued together with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH it is stipulated that metal casting technology is the industry/profession of creating products by pouring liquid metal into molds to create products with shapes according to the mold, after the metal solidifies in the mold, the casting product is obtained. Graduates of the college-level program of metal casting technology in Vietnam must meet level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
Graduates of the college-level program of metal casting technology in Vietnam can work in technical departments, pattern making, core and mold making workshops, and metal melting; product inspection and assessment departments; in casting companies, metallurgy plants, and mechanical manufacturing companies.
Minimum knowledge volume: 2155 hours (equivalent to 87 credits).
In particular, after graduating with an Associate Degree in Metal Casting Technology, students have the capacity to meet the job requirements of the industry, including:
- Designing casting products;
- Making patterns and molds;
- Melting metals;
- Casting metals in expendable molds;
- Treating cast products;
- Casting metals using other casting methods;
- Inspecting and packaging products;
- Managing technical safety and labor protection.
Additionally, the minimum knowledge and competency requirements that students must achieve after graduating in the college-level program of metal casting technology in Vietnam can be further developed at higher levels. Graduates have the capacity for self-study, self-updating scientific and technological advancements within the industry to enhance their qualifications or to pursue higher educational levels within the same industry/profession or within related training fields.
