How to Determine Norms for Investigating and Assessing Land Degradation in Vietnam

Below is the prominent content stipulated in Circular 33/2016/TT-BTNMT promulgating the economical and technical norms for land investigation and evaluation in Vietnam.

When calculating the level for a specific region based on the survey area, the number of administrative units, and the actual topography of the region in Vietnam, use the following formula:

Mv = Mvtb x Kdtv x Khcv x Kđhv + Mlm + Mpt

In which:

- Mv is the level of investigation and assessment of land degradation for a region.

- Mvtb is the level of investigation and assessment of land degradation for an average region.

- Mpt is the soil sample analysis level = norm/sample soil x the number of soil samples analyzed in the region.

- Kdtv is the area scale coefficient, calculated by interpolation method.

- Khcv is the administrative unit coefficient, calculated by interpolation method.

- Kđhv is the difficulty of topography coefficient, calculated by the weighted average method.

- Mlm is the soil sampling investigation level for the region = norm/sample soil x the number of soil samples in the region.
