How is the salary for working on National Day September 2, 2018, determined?

In the upcoming period, workers will continue to have 02 to 03 days off during the National Day holiday on September 2. For workers employed at enterprises, if there is an agreement with the enterprise to work during these holidays, what will be their wages?

1. Wages on National Day September 2, 2018

According to the Labor Code 2012, employees are usually entitled to a day off with 100% pay on National Day.

However, this year's National Day on September 2 falls on a Sunday, which is a weekly rest day for employees, and therefore will be substituted with a day off on Monday. Employees who work in this case will receive the following wages:

- According to Clause 5, Article 25 of Decree 05/2015/ND-CP, if working on Sunday, September 2: entitled to 300% salary;- If working on the substitute day Monday, September 3: entitled to 200% salary.

In the case of employees working overtime at night on National Day September 2, they will receive an additional 90% of overtime pay, according to the guidelines in Circular 23/2015/TT-BLDTBXH.

If the company does not designate Sunday as a weekly rest day, employees will not be given a substitute rest day. Working on this day will entitle employees to 400% salary.

2. Bonuses on National Day September 2, 2018

Regarding bonuses, it will be decided by the employer and is not mandatory according to the provisions of Article 103 of the Labor Code 2012.

1. A bonus is an amount of money that the employer rewards the employee based on the annual business performance and the level of task completion of the employee.


2. The bonus regulation is determined and publicly announced at the workplace by the employer after consulting the labor collective representative organization at the establishment.
