How Are Penalties Imposed for Not Having a Storage Place for Hazardous Chemicals?

On August 30, 2019, Decree 71/2019/ND-CP was unanimously promulgated by the Government of Vietnam, prescribing the penalties for administrative violations in the field of chemicals and industrial explosives.

Based on the provisions of Decree 71/2019/ND-CP, the act of not having a storage place for hazardous chemicals in use will be fined from VND 10,000,000 to VND 15,000,000, and concurrently, the use of hazardous chemicals will be suspended from 01 month to 03 months.

Additionally, Decree 71/2019/ND-CP also stipulates the penalties for violations of safety regulations concerning hazardous chemicals with fines ranging from VND 3,000,000 to VND 5,000,000, specifically for the following acts:

- Not having a safety regulation board at the place of use or storage of hazardous chemicals;- Not arranging a signaling system appropriate to the hazardous level of chemicals at the place of use or storage of hazardous chemicals;- Not fully displaying the hazardous properties of chemicals in the warning symbol for chemicals with multiple hazardous properties.
