Heavy penalties for non-compliance with licenses for editing of editing foreign program channels in Vietnam (Illustrative photo)
Article 18 of Decree 119/2020/ND-CP stipulates a fine of VND 5,000,000 to VND 10,000,000 for any of the following acts in Vietnam:
- Engaging in activities not conformable with the certificate of registration for providing foreign program channels on pay radio and television services;
- Engaging in activities not conformable with the license for editing foreign program channels on pay radio and television services.
- A fine of VND 10,000,000 to VND 20,000,000 for any of the following acts:
- Providing foreign program channels when the certificate of registration for providing foreign program channels on pay radio and television services has expired or failing to amend or supplement the certificate of registration for providing foreign program channels on pay radio and television services when changing the genre or content of the program channel;
- Editing and translating foreign program channels when the license for editing foreign program channels on pay radio and television services has expired or failing to amend or supplement the license for editing foreign program channels when changing the genre or content of the program channel.
- A fine of VND 30,000,000 to VND 40,000,000 for any of the following acts:
- Providing foreign program channels with copyright fees to pay radio and television service providers without a certificate of registration to provide foreign program channels;
- Editing and translating foreign program channels on radio and television services that are not conformable.
- A fine of VND 50,000,000 to VND 70,000,000 for any of the following acts:
- Providing pre-installed foreign advertising information on foreign program channels;
- Editing and translating foreign program channels on pay radio and television services without an editing license for foreign program channels.
