On November 4, 2024, the Minister of Health of Vietnam issued Circular 30/2024/TT-BYT specifying the list and content of basic healthcare service packages carried out by commune-level health stations in Vietnam.
In Section III of the Appendix issued with Circular 30/2024/TT-BYT, the regulations on the healthcare service package for the elderly to be executed by the commune health station in Vietnam include:

Service 9 | Periodic health check-up for the elderly; consultation, guidance, and dissemination of knowledge on health care, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and self-care for the elderly |
9.1. | Periodic health check-up for the elderly |
1. | Location: At the commune health station, healthcare facility, community service point, or at home. |
2. | Target group: Individuals aged 60 years and above residing in the commune. |
3. | Frequency: Once per year. |
4. | Content: Periodic health check-ups for the elderly shall be conducted in accordance with Clause 4, Article 34 of Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT dated December 31, 2023, issued by the Minister of Health stipulating details of several articles of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment. |
5. | Procedures and implementation guidelines according to: - Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT dated December 31, 2023, issued by the Minister of Health stipulating details of several articles of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment; - Circular 35/2011/TT-BYT dated October 15, 2011, issued by the Minister of Health guiding the implementation of elderly health care; - Decision 1092/QD-TTg dated September 02, 2018, of the Prime Minister approving the Vietnam Health Program; - Decision 1579/QD-TTg dated October 13, 2020, of the Prime Minister approving the Elderly Healthcare Program until 2030. |
9.2. | Consultation, guidance, dissemination of knowledge on health care, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and self-care for the elderly |
1. | Location: At the commune health station, healthcare facility, community service point, or at home. |
2. | Target group: Individuals aged 60 years and above residing in the commune and direct caregivers of the elderly. |
3. | Frequency: Once every 6 months. |
4. | Content: - Plan implementation care for individuals aged 60 years and above assessed as having poor health and those over 80 years old (according to integrated care guidance for the elderly); - Instruct the elderly on disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, self-care skills, and nutrition in the community; - Advise on disease prevention, especially common diseases in the elderly, for both the elderly and their caregivers. |
