Hanoi-Vietnam: Who is eligible for financial assistance for purchasing daily living aids and orthopedic devices?

On July 24, 2007, the Vietnam Ministry of Defense issued Circular 113/2007/TT-BQP guiding on funding the costs for daily living aids, orthopedic devices, and rehabilitation equipment for people with meritorious services to the revolution currently serving in the military.

According to Circular 113/2007/TT-BQP, people eligible for financial assistance for purchasing daily living aids, orthopedic devices, and rehabilitation equipment include:

  1. Individuals who engaged in revolutionary activities before January 1, 1945.

  2. Individuals who engaged in revolutionary activities from January 1, 1945, until before the August Revolution on August 19, 1945.

  3. Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes in the Resistance.

  4. Relatives of martyrs who currently receive monthly allowances.

  5. War invalids, individuals entitled to the same benefits as war invalids, and Claa B war invalids.

  6. Individuals involved in the resistance, affected by chemical toxins, and currently receiving monthly allowances.

  7. Individuals who engaged in revolutionary, resistance activities, were imprisoned and awarded the Resistance Order or Medal by the State.

Furthermore, this Circular outlines the following methods for granting financial assistance for purchasing daily living aids, orthopedic devices, and rehabilitation equipment a:

  • Financial assistance for purchasing assistive devices and orthopedic tools.

  • Financial assistance for transportation costs when traveling to obtain orthopedic tools.

  • Rehabilitation treatment.
