Hanoi-Vietnam: Technical requirements in manufacturing of absorption-based personal self-rescue devices

On December 5, 2018, the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Circular 50/2018/TT-BCT on the National technical regulation on safety for personal self-rescue used in underground mines.

To ensure the safety of workers working in underground mines, absorption-based personal self-rescue devices in Vietnam must meet the following manufacturing materials and technical requirements during manufacturing:

4	Moisture absorbent material	- Particle size: Diameter from 1.5 - 3mm. - Density: 0.65 - 0.95 g/ml - Moisture absorption within 60 minutes: ≥ 70%
5	- Dust filter bag surrounding the cylinder core - Cotton fabric liner	Made of thin cotton fabric with a mass of 50g/m^2^ according to TCVN 10038:2013 (ISO 2959:2011), TCVN 2130:2009.
6	Strap attachment ridge	- Material is low carbon steel, low alloy steel with a thickness not less than 1mm according to TCVN 8994:2011 (ISO 11951:1995) or stainless steel according to TCVN 10356:2014. - Welding joints are welded by pressure welding method according to TCVN 6115-2:2015.
7	Strap	- Minimum dimensions: Length 1.5m; width 0.02m; thickness 2mm according to TCVN 7802-1:200 - Made of textile material according to TCVN 10038:2013 (ISO 2959:2011)
