Hanoi-Vietnam: Teaching staff and facilities in the intermediate-level irrigation management sector (illustrative image)

Circular 40/2014/TT-BGDDT  stipulates the conditions for implementing the training program for the intermediate-level irrigation management sector regarding the teaching staff, facilities, and equipment as follows:

1. Implement the training program with quality and effectiveness, the training institution needs to have a sufficient number of teaching staff in both quantity and quality.

- The teaching staff must meet the standards as prescribed by the Education Law and the current regulations of intermediate vocational schools.

- The number of teachers must ensure the student-teacher ratio is appropriate as prescribed, wherein the core teaching staff of the disciplines must fulfill at least 70% of the training program's workload.

- Additionally, teachers participating in teaching and guiding practicals must have proficiency in information technology, foreign languages, and practical experience in irrigation to support and serve teaching and research tasks.

2. Ensure training quality, when implementing the training program for the Water Management sector, besides the general facilities and equipment, the training institution must prepare the following practical and internship facilities:

- Specialized computer lab.

- Technical drawing lab.

- Surveying and mapping lab.

- Electrical lab.

- Pump machinery lab.

- Construction practice area.

- Practice area for pumping stations, canals, and other irrigation works (can be linked and cooperated with external units).
