Hanoi-Vietnam: Table of whole person impairment due to sequelae of mental disorders

On June 12, 2014, the Vietnam Ministry of Health promulgated Circular 20/2014/TT-BYT stipulating the whole person impairment used in forensic and psychiatric forensic assessment.

The table of whole person impairment used in forensic and psychiatric forensic assessment in Vietnam is issued in conjunction with Circular 20/2014/TT-BYT. The whole person impairment due to the sequelae of mental and behavioral disorders after suffering from trauma and brain injuries is stipulated as follows:

I. Dementia  
1. Mild dementia 21-25
2. Moderate dementia 41-45
3. Severe dementia 61-63
4. Very severe dementia (complete) 81-83
II. Mental disorders after brain concussion  
1. Mental disorders after brain concussion treated and recovered 0
2. Mental disorders after brain concussion treated and stabilized 11-15
3. Mental disorders after brain concussion with unsuccessful treatment 25-30
III. Personality disorders  
1. Personality disorders treated and recovered 0

The regulations may be found in Circular 20/2014/TT-BYT effective from August 15, 2014.
