Hanoi-Vietnam: Standard language knowledge in practical japanese education

The Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training recently signed for promulgation of Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BGDDT on the Continuing Education Program in Practical Japanese.

Under Circular 34, each foreign language proficiency level for Japanese in Vietnam will have different standard knowledge. To be specific:

  Number of lessons Vocabulary Writing language/Kanji Grammar Structures Output standards according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam
Level 1 270 Approximately 800 new words 50 Hiragana, 50 Katakana, Approximately 90 Kanji Approximately 104 new grammar structures 1/6
Level 2 270 Approximately 1500 new words Approximately 210 new Kanji Approximately 120 new grammar structures 2/6
Level 3 270 Approximately 1500 new words Approximately 355 new Kanji Approximately 120 new grammar structures and several new expressions 3/6
Level 4 270 Approximately 2100 new words Approximately 400 new Kanji Approximately 110 new grammar structures and several new expressions 4/6
Level 5 270 Approximately 2100 new words Approximately 400 new Kanji Approximately 110 grammar structures and several new expressions 5/6
Level 6 270 Approximately 2000 new words Approximately 550 new Kanji Approximately 110 new grammar structures and several new expressions 6/6
Total 1620 Approximately 10,000 words Approximately 2000 Kanji Approximately 675 grammar structures  

Teaching methods may be found in Circular 34/2018/TT-BGDDT effective from February 12, 2019.
