Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Vietnam Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs regulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements for graduates from intermediate and college programs in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary medicine will come into force from February 10, 2019

As stipulated in the Regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements for graduates from intermediate and college programs in the forestry major, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the skills required for graduates of college-level forestry major in Vietnam are as follows:
- Disseminate and popularize general knowledge about policies and laws related to forestry;
- Develop production plans, and plans for planting and harvesting forests, suitable for each type of plant and market;
- Calculate economic and technical norms for planting and harvesting forests;
- Read design documents for planting and harvesting, and efficiently perform tasks of planting and harvesting forests;
- Identify violations, and handle violations in planting, caring for, managing, protecting, and developing forests;
- Implement the process of preparing design documents for planting and harvesting forests;
- Develop and organize the implementation of plans for producing seedlings, planting forests, and harvesting forests;
- Perform steps in seedling production, planting, caring for, managing, protecting, and developing forests;
- Skillfully use equipment and tools for designing and harvesting forests;
- Execute the forest harvesting process;
- Inspect and evaluate the results of planting, caring for, and harvesting forests;
- Draft minutes of violations and handle violations in planting, caring for, managing, protecting, and developing forests;
- Compile information, write, and present reports;
- Organize training sessions, and transfer knowledge to farmers; provide consultancy and agricultural and forestry services;
- Evaluate and develop rural development plans;
- Implement agricultural and forestry business models;
- Use basic information technology under regulations; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional tasks of the field;
- Use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 2/6 in the Foreign Language Proficiency Framework of Vietnam; apply foreign languages in professional tasks of the field.
