Hanoi-Vietnam: Scoring scale and method for the titles of Cultural Family and Cultural Residential Area

Decree 122/2018/ND-CP was promulgated on September 17, 2018. One notable content of this legislative document is the regulation on the scoring scale and method for the titles of Cultural Family and Cultural Residential Area in Vietnam.

According to the provisions of Article 5 of Decree 122/2018/ND-CP, the maximum score for considering recognition of the titles “Cultural Family” and “Cultural Residential Area” in Vietnam is 100 points. The total score for each standard specified in Article 6 and Article 12 of Decree 122/2018/ND-CP must not be below 50% of the maximum score.

The scoring method for considering recognition of the “Cultural Family” title is carried out as follows:

- Households in districts in municipal cities: Achieve at least 90 points;

- Households in communes, wards, towns in mountainous areas, islands, or extremely disadvantaged communes, or poor households, near-poor households as stipulated by the Government of Vietnam: Achieve at least 60 points;

- Households not falling under the above cases: Achieve at least 85 points.

The scoring method for considering recognition of the “Cultural Residential Area” title is carried out as follows:

- Residential areas in districts in municipal cities: Achieve at least 90 points;

- Residential areas in communes, wards, towns in mountainous areas, islands, or extremely disadvantaged communes as stipulated by the Government of Vietnam: Achieve at least 60 points;

- Residential areas not falling under the above cases: Achieve at least 80 points.

Note: The diploma of merit of “Cultural Family” and “Cultural Residential Area” is awarded to no more than 15% of the total number of families recognized with the “Cultural Family” title for three consecutive years, and residential areas recognized with the “Cultural Residential Area” title for five consecutive years.
