Hanoi-Vietnam: Requirements for air conditioning equipment in buildings

On December 28, 2017, the Vietnam Ministry of Construction issued Circular 15/2017/TT-BXD specifically enumerating the requirements for air conditioning equipment in buildings.

Circular 15 stipulates that air conditioning equipment and chillers in Vietnam must have a minimum Coefficient of Performance under standard assessment conditions and not be less than the values stated in the two tables below:

NOTE: COP = Cold Yield / Power Consumption, kW/kW. The condenser assembly consists of a compressor and a condenser;

(*) 1 cluster or 2 cluster air conditioners: the energy efficiency of the equipment is evaluated by the Cooling Seasonal Performance Factor (CSPF) instead of the Coefficient of Performance. The process of testing and evaluating the equipment's energy efficiency is carried out per TCVN 7830:2015, TCVN 6576:2013 and TCVN 10273-1:2013 (ISO 5151:2000).
