Youth is a powerful force and the future of Vietnam. The Law on Youth clearly states that all organizations, families, and individuals must care for, train, educate, and promote the role of youth. Additionally, youth must master their rights and obligations as follows:

In Labor |
- Undergo labor to establish oneself, build a career, earn legitimate wealth, and contribute to nation-building. - Proactively access labor market information; choose jobs and workplaces suitable to personal abilities and societal needs. |
In National Defense |
- Defending the Fatherland is the sacred duty and noble right of the youth. - Be trained in defense education programs; fulfill military service obligations; participate in armed forces as prescribed by law. |
In Scientific, Technological Activities and Environmental Protection |
- Have the right to conduct scientific and technological research, and apply technical advancements in production and life. - Be honest and cooperative spirit in scientific and technological research. |
In Cultural, Artistic, Entertainment Activities |
- Be entitled to participate in healthy cultural, artistic, and recreational activities. - Regularly cultivate ethics, manners, and culturally appropriate behavior; practice civilized living. |
In Health Protection, Physical Training, and Sports Activities |
- Be entitled to protection, care, and guidance for enhancing health, healthy living skills, and disease prevention. - Nurtured physical development; actively participate in physical training and sports activities. |
In Marriage and Family |
- Be educated about marriage and family, practice voluntary, progressive, monogamous marriage, equality between husband and wife, and build a happy family. - Preserve and promote the good traditions of the Vietnamese family; respect grandparents, parents, and elders; care for and educate family members. |
In State and Social Management |
- Raise civic awareness, comply with the law, and contribute to building a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, for the people. - Be entitled to stand for election, nominate oneself for the National Assembly, and People's Councils at all levels as prescribed by law; express opinions, wishes, and recommendations to agencies and organizations on matters of concern; participate in contributing to the formulation of youth-related policies, laws, and others. |
