On December 28, 2018, the Vietnam Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) issued Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements for graduates from intermediate and college programs in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary medicine.

In the Regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements for graduates from intermediate and college programs in the forestry major, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the intermediate-level forestry major includes all activities related to the management, protection, development, and use of forests; processing and trading of forestry products, meeting level 4 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
Graduates can work at State management agencies, administrative units in forestry; research and technology transfer agencies in agriculture and forestry; agencies related to urban forestry, forestry enterprises, forestry projects; agricultural and forestry farms, and other related organizations, and self-employment in their trained profession.
The minimum knowledge volume is 1400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits).
Additionally, after graduating from the intermediate-level forestry major, learners must achieve minimum levels of autonomy and responsibility as follows:
- Have good ethical qualities and correct professional awareness, have a cooperative attitude with colleagues, respect the law and regulations at the workplace;
- Be honest and highly disciplined, capable of working independently, ready to take on assigned tasks; producing high-quality and efficient labor;
- Perform assigned tasks and self-evaluate results according to established criteria;
- Participate in group work and bear partial responsibility for work results.
Moreover, graduates have the competence to meet the job requirements in the sectors, including:
- Forest protection;
- Forest development;
- Use of forests;
- Processing of forestry products;- Urban forestry.
