Hanoi-Vietnam: Conditions for exemption from foreign language and informatics skill assessment for teachers applying for rank promotion to professional titles

For teachers applying for the rank promotion to professional titles via assessment, to be exempted from foreign language and informatics skill assessment, teachers in Vietnam must meet the conditions specified in  Article 9, Circular 28/2017/TT-BGDDT as follows:

- Teachers who reach 55 years old or older for men and 50 years old or older for women as of December 31 of the year the rank promotion assessment is organized, will be exempted from foreign language and informatics skill assessment as per the regulations of their professional title.

- Where teachers specified in Clause 1 of this Article have foreign language and information technology proficiency higher than the minimum requirements for the new professional title, foreign language and informatics skill assessment shall still be conducted for additional points.

Note:

- The conversion of equivalency foreign language certificates is carried out according to Official Dispatch 3755/BGDDT-GDTX dated August 3, 2016, of the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training regarding the conversion of equivalency foreign language and informatics certificates.

- In cases where teachers already hold associate or bachelor’s degrees in dual-major programs including Informatics (Mathematics - Informatics, Physics - Informatics), they are considered as having graduated from at least a specialized secondary level or higher in Informatics or Information Technology.
