Circular 51/2015/TT-BTNMT guides the inspection of minerals to determine the demarcation of corner points of the area permitted for mineral exploration by organizations and individuals based on the following basis:

- Results of surveying and mapping the coordinates of the corner points in the field; map drawings of the corresponding demarcated points with the corner points of the mineral exploration area recorded in the mineral exploration permit accompanied by the acceptance document;- Specifications of the demarcation points, including: marking material, dimensions according to standards, grade 4 geodesic benchmarks for the case of solid mineral exploration; according to the standards and regulations for the field of waterways for the case of sand and gravel exploration in riverbeds, estuaries, and sea entrances;- Handover minutes of completed demarcation of corner points in the field between the Department of Natural Resources and Environment where the mineral exploration activity takes place, the representative of the district, commune People's Committee with the organization or individual permitted to explore.

In which, the determination of the exploration area exceeding the permitted mineral exploration area is carried out according to the following content and sequence:

- Determining the position and coordinates of the center of the exploration work constructed in the field outside the permitted exploration area;- Plotting the center coordinates of the project specified in point a of this Clause onto the map of the permitted exploration area (with the same coordinate system and scale). Connecting each point of the project outside the boundary of the permitted exploration area with the two nearest demarcated points of the permitted exploration area to determine the triangular area of the excess;- The actual excess exploration area is the total area of the triangles with excess areas specified in point b of this Clause after subtracting the overlapping areas between the triangles (if any).
