Guidelines for registration of training military officers in the on-the-job training program in Vietnam (Illustrative image)

According to Article 9 of Circular 87/2011/TT-BQP, the registration for the on-the-job training program is guided as follows:

1. This applies to the linkage training form, where learners are working while studying; it has been organized since the 2013 academic year, after the organizational stabilization of various training forms under the Scheme.

2. Training period:

Each academic year consists of 2 to 3 terms, each term being no less than 2 months; the time to complete the program is longer compared to that of the same official level program by half a year to 1 year.

Example: Training in the on-the-job training form from the intermediate professional level in the military sector up to the college level in the basic military sector; the formal and concentrated training period is 18 months, whereas, for the on-the-job training program with the same curriculum, the period must be 24 months to 36 months.

3. Organization of training

- Infantry Officer School 1, Infantry Officer School 2 organize the on-the-job training form at the university level in the basic military sector at the school;

- Infantry Officer School 1 coordinates with the military schools of Military Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, and the Military School of the Hanoi Capital Command to organize the on-the-job training form at the college level in the basic military sector; Infantry Officer School 2 coordinates with the military schools of Military Regions 5, 7, and 9 to organize the on-the-job training form at the college level in the basic military sector.
