This is a key content stipulated in Circular 28/2016/TT-BGDDT, amending and supplementing some contents of the Preschool Education Program issued together with Circular 17/2009/TT-BGDDT.
To be specific, the organization of meals for children in preschool educational institutions is guided by Circular 28/2016/TT-BGDDT as follows:
- Develop meal policies and appropriate meal portions according to age:
- The recommended daily energy requirement for a child is: 1230 - 1320 Kcal.- The recommended energy requirement at school for a child in a day accounts for 50 - 55% of the total daily requirement: 615 - 726 Kcal.
- Number of meals at preschool educational institutions: One main meal and one snack.
- Energy distribution for meals: The main lunch meal provides from 30% to 35% of the daily energy. The snack provides from 15% to 25% of the daily energy.
- The proportion of nutrients providing energy according to the structure:
- Protein provides about 13% - 20% of the energy in the diet.- Fat provides about 25% - 35% of the energy in the diet.- Carbohydrate provides about 52% - 60% of the energy in the diet.
- Drinking water: about 1.6 - 2.0 liters/child/day (including water in food).
- Build daily, weekly, and seasonal menus.
