Guidance on Declaring Certificates of Origin for Goods

On April 3, 2018, Circular No. 05/2018/TT-BCT was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade regulating the origin of goods. The document takes effect from April 3, 2018.

To be specific:, the declaration of Vietnam’s C/O form B concerning the origin of goods is guided by Circular 05 as follows:

- Box No. 1: the trade name of the exporter, address, name of the exporting country- Box No. 2: name of the consignee, address, name of the importing country- Upper right corner box: C/O reference number (for the authority or organization authorized to issue the C/O)- Box No. 3: departure date, name of the means of transport- Box No. 4: name of the authority or organization authorized to issue the C/O, address, name of the country- Box No. 5: Section reserved for customs authorities at the port or place of import- Box No. 6: description of goods and HS code; marks and numbers of packages- Box No. 7: gross weight of goods or other quantity- Box No. 8: number and date of issuance of the commercial invoice- Box No. 9: place of issue of the C/O, date of issue of the C/O, signature and seal of the issuing authority or organization- Box No. 10: place, date of the application for the C/O, and the signature of the exporter (for the trader applying for the C/O).
