General Requirements for Integrated Survey of Marine Resources and Environment

Circular 57/2017/TT-BTNMT was promulgated by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on December 08, 2017, specifying general requirements for the comprehensive survey of marine resources and the environment.

According to Circular 57, the following requirements must be met when conducting a comprehensive survey of marine resources and environment:

- Adhere to the operational steps, procedures, standards, technical regulations, and technical specifications specified for each type of work when conducting investigation and survey.- Implement coordination between various types of work when conducting investigation and survey.- Develop a plan and schedule before conducting an investigation and survey, including a plan to cooperate with relevant organizations and individuals.- Investigation and survey vessels must meet all maritime requirements as prescribed, be equipped or capable of being equipped with means and equipment that meet the requirements of the investigation and survey, and ensure stability and safety during the investigation and survey of marine resources and environment.- The quality of collected survey products must reflect the characteristics of natural conditions and the distribution of natural resources in the survey area.- During the investigation and survey, comply with legal regulations on the protection of historical and cultural relics, marine conservation, protection of marine resources and environment, and underwater and surface constructions on the sea, without obstructing maritime economic activities.- Ensure all occupational safety regulations are observed during the investigation and survey at sea.- Establish a protection plan for the investigation and survey to ensure the safety of survey vessels, survey equipment, survey staff, and the crew.- Organize inspection and acceptance of the volume and quality of products performed in accordance with regulations.
