General Requirements for EIRP Emission Density

Circular 29/2017/TT-BTTTT was issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications on November 07, 2017, listing specific general requirements for EIRP emission density.

Circular 29 stipulates the compliance of the EIRP density determined from:

- Measuring rms accuracy of the static directional antenna;- Measuring off-axis EIRP.- Off-axis EIRP measurements may be performed in cases where the EUT has or does not have an antenna:

Simultaneously, Circular 29 also stipulates for MES when measurements can be performed at the antenna flange and with the manufacturer’s consent. The measurements must be carried out in three stages:

- Measurement of the transmitter’s output power density (dBW/40 kHz);- Measurement of the antenna’s transmission gain (dBi);- Measurement of the antenna’s transmission radiation pattern (dBi).

For MES when the measurements stipulated by Circular 29 cannot be performed at the antenna flange or without the manufacturer’s consent, the EUT is equipped with an antenna. The measurements must be carried out in three stages:

- Measure the ratio of maximum EIRP density over 40 kHz compared to EIRP (dBc/40 kHz);- Measure the maximum on-axis EIRP (dBW);- Measure the antenna’s transmission radiation pattern (dBi).

See details in Circular 29/2017/TT-BTTTT effective from July 1, 2018.
