According to the Regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in technical drug testing professions, issued alongside Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, technical drug testing at the intermediate level is a profession mainly involved in sampling; analyzing the basic and common quality indicators of raw materials, semi-finished products, and products; analyzing the characteristic indicators of drugs using methods such as: physical, chemical, biological, mass, volume, spectrophotometry, spectroscopy, chromatography, etc., using specialized instruments, equipment, machinery, and chemicals correctly according to standards and procedures, ensuring accuracy, safety, and effectiveness; aggregating and evaluating analytical results and managing testing activities in testing rooms, meeting level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualification Framework.

Individuals working in the "Technical Drug Testing" profession will perform the duties of testers, managers of testing work at drug - cosmetic testing centers, preventive medicine centers, pharmaceutical business production enterprises, testing rooms of pharmaceutical educational institutions, and research units.

The "Technical Drug Testing" profession frequently involves working with various analytical chemicals, fragile glass instruments, high-precision analytical machines and equipment, requiring careful and meticulous handling; as well as regular contact with machinery, equipment, and working conditions in different pharmaceutical production and business environments.

Notably, the minimum volume of knowledge is 1,700 hours (equivalent to 60 credits).
