Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulates the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate level and college level in health and social service disciplines. As stipulated in the regulation on the minimum volume of knowledge, and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at the intermediate level, college level in the field of pharmacy, issued together with Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the intermediate level pharmacy profession involves drugs and has a direct impact on human health and life. The main tasks are primarily performed in laboratories of training and research institutions; institutes, centers, testing rooms; pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies, drug counters, drug warehouses; the pharmacy department of medical facilities such as hospitals at different levels, medical centers, medical stations, clinics..., meeting the requirements of level 4 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
The intermediate level pharmacy profession comprises 5 fields: Drug production and preparation; Ensuring and inspecting drug quality; Drug storage; Drug management and supply; Hospital pharmacy, corresponding to 7 job positions. Each job position has its specific scope of work and duties, such as:
- Drug production;
- Drug – cosmetic – food testing;
- Quality assurance;
- Pharmaceutical and medical supplies warehouse;
- Retail pharmacy;
- Drug counter owner;
- Pharmaceutical work at healthcare facilities.
The working conditions in the profession frequently involve contact with chemicals, raw materials, semi-finished and finished drugs - cosmetics - functional foods - medical supplies, and the use and operation of high-precision equipment, requiring pharmacy professionals to always be meticulous, precise, careful, honest, and comply with professional ethics. For jobs in the business sector, frequent contact with customers such as healthcare workers and patients requires practitioners, besides having a firm grasp of drug knowledge, to cultivate careful and precise manners, skillful communication ability, and professional presentation skills.
Additionally, note that the minimum volume of knowledge is 1,700 hours (equivalent to 60 credits).
