Measures to Promote Gender Equality are measures aimed at ensuring substantive gender equality, issued by the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and the Government of Vietnam in cases where there is a significant disparity between men and women in terms of position, role, conditions, opportunities to leverage capacities, and enjoyment of development achievements...
According to the provisions of Article 19 of the Gender Equality Law 2006 and Article 14 of Decree 48/2009/ND-CP, measures to promote gender equality include:
Firstly, stipulating the ratio of men and women or ensuring an appropriate female ratio to participate and benefit in various fields of social life.
Secondly, training and enhancing the qualifications and capacities of women or men to ensure they meet professional standards and other criteria as prescribed by law.
Thirdly, supporting and creating conditions and opportunities for women or men to increase the sharing between women and men in family and social work in accordance with gender equality goals.
Fourthly, stipulating specific standards and conditions for women or men to implement preferential policies in specific fields.
Fifthly, stipulating that women have the right to choose and prioritize women in cases where women meet the same conditions and standards as men to ensure gender equality.
These measures to promote gender equality are implemented for a certain period and terminated when the goal of gender equality is achieved.
