Full text of policies on seniority allowance for police officers

the Government of Vietnam recently signed and issued Decree 49/2019/ND-CP detailing and providing measures to implement certain articles of the Law on the People's Public Security.

Decree 49/2019/ND-CP on policies regarding seniority allowance for police workers is stipulated as follows:

- Allowance Rate

- Police workers who have served in the People's Public Security Forces for a full 5 years are entitled to a seniority allowance equivalent to 5% of their current salary plus position and seniority allowances beyond the salary scale; from the sixth year onwards, an additional 1% is calculated for each subsequent year.- Seniority allowance is paid monthly along with the salary and is used to calculate contributions and benefits for social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and occupational accident and disease insurance.

- Periods counted towards the allowance

- Time served in the People's Public Security Forces;- Time receiving seniority allowance in other sectors or professions is aggregated with the aforementioned time to calculate seniority allowance.

- Periods not counted towards the allowance

- Time on unpaid leave for 01 month or more;- Time on sick leave or maternity leave exceeding the legal duration stipulated by social insurance law;- Time under suspension from work or temporary detention, followed by disciplinary dismissal.

Refer to the service age limits for police workers in Decree 49/2019/ND-CP, effective from July 25, 2019.
