October 01, 2020, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular 35/2020/TT-BGDĐT regulating the code, criteria of professional titles, appointment and salary ranking for public employees teaching in public colleges of pedagogy.
Full Standards for Becoming a Senior Pedagogical College Lecturer from November 20, 2020 in Vietnam (illustrative image)
Article 6 of Circular 35/2020/TT-BGDDT stipulates the standards for educational and training qualifications to become a senior pedagogical college lecturer (Grade I) - Code: V.07.08.20 in Vietnam, including:
- A doctorate degree relevant to the job position, subject, or teaching major;
- A certificate in pedagogical skills training (for lecturers who did not graduate from pedagogical universities or technical pedagogical universities);
- A certificate in advanced pedagogical college lecturer training standards (Grade I).
Regarding professional competence and expertise standards, the requirements are as follows:
- Have in-depth knowledge of the subjects or disciplines assigned to teach; knowledge of related subjects or disciplines; extensive understanding of professional practice, scientific and technological advances relevant to the assigned teaching subjects;
- Master the practices and development trends of specialized training and scientific research; proficiently apply teaching skills and methods; possess the capability to evaluate and summarize teaching experiences and methods to propagate and apply them in educational institutions;- Lead the implementation of at least 02 (two) grassroots scientific and technological tasks or 01 (one) higher-level task that has been approved with satisfactory results or higher;
- Lead the compilation of at least 01 (one) textbook for training purposes, evaluated and approved by the scientific council (established by the Head of the educational institution or authorized bodies) for use in training and education from intermediate level upwards, relevant to the lecturer's teaching specialty and bearing an international standard ISBN;
- Author of at least 04 (four) scientific articles based on the lecturer's research, published in scientific journals with an international standard ISSN;
- Capable of applying information technology and using foreign languages in performing the duties of a senior pedagogical college lecturer (Grade I);
- Competitors or candidates for promotion to the position of senior pedagogical college lecturer (Grade I) must have held the position of principal pedagogical college lecturer (Grade II) or an equivalent position for at least 06 (six) years, with at least 01 year (12 full months) in the position of principal pedagogical college lecturer (Grade II) as of the deadline for application submission or promotion consideration.
