Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 27/2006/ND-CP regarding the establishment of a commune under Muong Nhe District, Dien Bien Province.
From April 13, 2006, Quang Lam and Nam Ke communes established from Muong Toong commune(Illustrative image)
Decree 27/2006/ND-CP stipulates the establishment of Quang Lam commune based on 23,512.44 hectares of natural area and a population of 3,093 from Muong Toong commune, and the establishment of Nam Ke commune based on 22,313.78 hectares of natural area and a population of 4,296 from Muong Toong commune. To be specific:
- Quang Lam commune has 23,512.44 hectares of natural area and a population of 3,093. The administrative boundary of Quang Lam commune: East borders Cha Cang and Pa Tan communes; West borders the Lao People's Democratic Republic; South borders Na Khoa commune and the Lao People's Democratic Republic; North borders Nam Ke commune.- Nam Ke commune has 22,313.78 hectares of natural area and a population of 4,296. The administrative boundary of Nam Ke commune: East borders Pa Tan commune; West borders Muong Nhe commune and the Lao People's Democratic Republic; South borders Quang Lam commune; North borders Muong Toong commune and Lai Chau province.
After the adjustment of administrative boundaries to establish Quang Lam and Nam Ke communes, Muong Toong commune remains with 23,177.78 hectares of natural area and a population of 3,599.
After the adjustment of administrative boundaries to establish the above-mentioned communes, Muong Nhe district has 11 administrative units at the commune level, including: Na Hy, Na Khoa, Na Bung, Cha Cang, Pa Tan, Muong Toong, Quang Lam, Nam Ke, Sin Thau, Chung Chai, and Muong Nhe.
