From 2019, Determining Selected Candidates for Officials and Public Employees According to New Regulations

This is one of the important contents stipulated in Decree 161/2018/ND-CP amending and supplementing several regulations on recruitment for officials and public employees, effective from January 15, 2019.

To be specific:, according to regulations at Clause 5, Clause 7 Decree 161/2018/ND-CP amending and supplementing Clause 11, Article 14 of Decree 24/2010/ND-CP and Clause 4, Clause 6 Article 2 of Decree 161 amending and supplementing Article 10, Article 13 of Decree 29/2012/ND-CP, from January 15, 2019, the determination of successful candidates in the recruitment and selection examination for officials and public employees is regulated as follows:

1. For the recruitment examination of officials and public employees:

A successful candidate in the recruitment examination of an official/public employee must meet the following conditions:

- Achieve a score of 50 or higher in the second round of the examination;

- Have a total score of the second round plus priority points (if any) higher than those in descending order within the scope of the recruitment quota for each job position.

In case of two or more candidates having the same total score in the second round plus priority points (if any) at the last quota for recruitment, the candidate with a higher score in the second round is the successful candidate; if it is still not determined, the head of the competent recruiting authority will decide the successful candidate.

Note: Candidates who are not successful in the recruitment examination for officials/public employees will not retain their examination results for future recruitment examinations.

2. For the selection examination of officials and public employees:

A successful candidate in the selection examination of an official/public employee must meet the following conditions:

- Achieve a score of 50 or higher in the interview for officials, and in the interview or practical examination for public employees;

- Have a total score of the second round plus priority points (if any) higher than those in descending order within the scope of the recruitment quota for each job position.

In case of two or more candidates having the same total score in the interview plus priority points (if any) at the last quota for recruitment, the candidate with a higher score in the second round interview is the successful candidate; if it is still not determined, the head of the competent recruiting authority will decide the successful candidate.

Note:*

- Candidates who are not successful in the selection examination for officials/public employees will not retain their selection results for future selection examinations.

- In case the candidate being considered for public employee status falls into multiple priority categories, only the highest priority point will be added to the score of the second round.
