Four Instances in Which Probationary Officials Are Entitled to 100% of Salary

According to current regulations, a person recruited as an official during their probationary period will receive 85% of the salary of grade 1 in the recruitment category. So, are there any cases where a probationary official is still entitled to 100% of the salary?

According to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 22 of Decree 24/2010/ND-CP, individuals recruited into official positions during their apprenticeship period will receive 85% of the first-step salary of the recruitment rank.

In particular, if the intern has a master's degree suitable for the recruitment requirements, they will receive 85% of the second-step salary of the recruitment rank. If the intern possesses a doctoral degree suitable for the recruitment requirements, they will receive 85% of the third-step salary of the recruitment rank.

However, according to the provisions of Article 10 of Decree 140/2017/ND-CP and Clause 2, Article 22 of Decree 24/2010/ND-CP, there are four special cases in which individuals recruited into official positions during their apprenticeship period will receive 100% of the salary and allowances of the recruitment rank:

- Working in mountainous areas, border areas, islands, remote areas, areas of ethnic minorities, areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions;

- Working in hazardous and dangerous sectors;

- Individuals who have completed military service, service term in the people's security forces, officers, professional servicemen, persons working in the cipher work transitioning to other sectors, youth volunteers, young intellectual volunteers participating in rural and mountainous development for 24 months or more who have completed their tasks;

- Outstanding graduates and young scientific staff recruited into official positions under talent attraction policies.

Note: The apprenticeship period is not included in the time for salary step raise consideration.
