Formula for Calculating Provincial-Level Land Degradation Investigation and Assessment Norms in Vietnam

Below is the noteworthy content stipulated in Circular 33/2016/TT-BTNMT issuing the Economical and Technical Norms for Land Investigation and Assessment in Vietnam.

When calculating the level for each province regarding land degradation investigation and assessment in Vietnam, the following formula is applied:

Mt = Mttb x Kdtt x Khct x Kđht + Mlm + Mpt

Where:

- Mt is the level of investigation and assessment of land degradation for a provincial administrative unit.

- Mttb is the average level of investigation and assessment of land degradation for a province.

- Kdtt is the area scale factor, calculated by interpolation method.

- Khct is the adjustment factor for the number of administrative units, calculated by interpolation method.

- Kđht is the difficulty level coefficient of the terrain, calculated by the weighted average method.

- Mlm is the level of (manpower, tools, equipment, materials) for soil sampling investigation of the province = norm/01 soil sample x the number of soil samples of the province.

- Mpt is the level of soil sample analysis = norm/soil sample x the number of soil samples analyzed by the province.

See related regulations at Circular 33/2016/TT-BTNMT, effective from December 22, 2016.
