In the case of prescribing medicines combining traditional medicines, herbal medicines with chemical drugs for outpatients, the part of prescribing decoction medicines shall be done according to the Outpatient Decoction Prescription form prescribed in the appendix issued with Circular 44/2018/TT-BYT, the part of prescribing chemical drugs, finished medicines, and herbal medicines shall be done according to Circular 52/2017/TT-BYT dated December 29, 2017, by the Minister of Health prescribing prescriptions and the prescription of chemical drugs and biologicals in outpatient treatment at medical examination and treatment facilities.

When prescribing a combination of traditional medicines, herbal medicines with chemical drugs, the following two principles must be adhered to:

- The prescription of chemical drugs in outpatient treatment is carried out according to regulations in Circular 52/2017/TT-BYT.

- The prescription of a combination of chemical drugs in inpatient treatment must comply with the legal regulations on prescribing chemical drugs.
