Regulation 102/QD-TW on handling disciplinary actions against Communist Party members violating rules was issued by the Central Executive Committee on November 15, 2017, replacing Regulation 181-QD/TW of 2013. The 33 new points in Regulation 102 are as follows:

  1. Addition of 01 new principle for handling disciplinary actions;
  2. New regulations on the statute of limitations for handling disciplinary actions;
  3. Communist Party members violating disciplinary rules due to objective reasons or coercion but must proactively report to the organization for leniency consideration.
  4. Being dishonest in declaring their personal history and supplementing Communist Party member records will result in a reprimand;
  5. For violations of political views, additional acts subject to expulsion from the Communist Party are specified;
  6. Failure to comply with reporting policies, information policies, and answering questions as stipulated by the Communist Party and the State will result in a reprimand.
  7. For violations of democratic centralism principles, additional acts subject to warnings or removal from duty are specified.
