Establishment of Thanh Tien commune with an area of 2,239.89 hectares and a population of 9,412 in Vietnam on November 30

Recently, the Government of Vietnam has promulgated Decree 162/2007/ND-CP regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes and wards; the establishment of communes and wards under Binh Thuy District, O Mon District, Thot Not District, and Vinh Thanh District, Can Tho City.

Specifically, Decree 162/2007/ND-CP regulates the establishment of Thanh Tien Commune in Vinh Thanh District on the basis of adjusting 2,239.89 hectares of natural area and 9,412 residents from Thanh An Commune in Vietnam. To be specific: 

- Thanh Tien Commune has 2,239.89 hectares of natural area and 9,412 residents;

- Administrative boundary of Thanh Tien Commune:

- East borders Thanh Quoi Commune;

- West borders commune-level town Thanh An;

- South borders Thanh Phu Commune and commune-level town Thanh An;

- North borders Thanh An Commune and Thanh Quoi Commune.

Thus, after the administrative boundary adjustment, Can Tho City's boundaries are as follows:

- An Thoi Ward remains with 384.83 hectares of natural area and 14,445 residents;

- Tra Noc Ward remains with 712 hectares of natural area and 10,513 residents;

- Binh Thuy District has 7,059.31 hectares of natural area with 97,051 residents, consisting of 8 subordinate ward-level administrative units, including wards: Tra Noc, Tra An, An Thoi, Bui Huu Nghia, Thoi An Dong, Binh Thuy, Long Tuyen, Long Hoa;- Thoi Long Ward remains with 1,927.78 hectares of natural area and 20,609 residents;

- O Mon District has 12,540.86 hectares of natural area and 131,124 residents, consisting of 7 subordinate ward-level administrative units, including wards: Thoi Long, Long Hung, Thoi Hoa, Thoi An, Chau Van Liem, Phuoc Thoi, Truong Lac;

- Thuan Hung Commune remains with 1,385.39 hectares of natural area and 19,035 residents;

- Thot Not District has 17,110.08 hectares of natural area and 196,610 residents, consisting of 9 subordinate administrative units, including: commune-level town Thot Not and communes: Thuan Hung, Tan Hung, Trung Kien, Trung Thanh, Trung An, Trung Nhut, Thoi Thuan, Tan Loc;

- Thanh An Commune remains with 4,488.69 hectares of natural area and 10,447 residents;

- Vinh Thanh District has 41,029.27 hectares of natural area with 152,759 residents, consisting of 11 subordinate administrative units, including: commune-level towns Thanh An, Vinh Thanh and communes: Thanh Thang, Thanh An, Thanh Tien, Thanh Quoi, Thanh My, Thanh Phu, Thanh Loc, Trung Hung, Vinh Trinh.
