Entrance Fee for the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology Starting from VND 10,000 per Visit

From January 1, 2017, the collection rates, collection policies, submission, management, and utilization of the admission fees to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of Circular 160/2016/TT-BTC newly issued by the Ministry of Finance.

According to the Circular, the fee levels are regulated as follows: for adults, the fee is 40,000 VND/person/visit.

For university, college, intermediate school, and vocational school students (learners), the fee is 20,000 VND/person/visit. Students (learners) are those who have a student card issued by educational institutions within the national education system in Vietnam.

For children and students in primary and secondary education institutions: 10,000 VND/person/visit. Children are individuals aged from 6 to under 16 years. In cases where it is difficult to determine if someone is under 16, a birth certificate, passport, citizen identification or any other document proving the individual is under 16 years old must be presented. Students are those who have a student card issued by educational institutions within the national education system in Vietnam.

The Circular also clearly states that admission to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is free for the following cases: Children under 6 years old; persons with exceptionally severe disabilities as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 11 of Decree 28/2012/ND-CP dated April 10, 2012, of the Government of Vietnam detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Persons with Disabilities.

Additionally, a 50% reduction in the admission fee to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is applied in certain prescribed cases.

The fee-collecting organization is allowed to retain 90% of the total collected fees to cover costs as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 5 of Decree No. 120/2016/ND-CP of the Government of Vietnam detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Fees and Charges; 10% of the collected fees must be paid into the state budget.

Circular 159/2016/TT-BTC takes effect from January 01, 2017.
