Recently, the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam has issued a directive to ensure that the celebration of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake in 2025 is joyful, wholesome, safe, and economical.

On January 14, 2025, the Ministry of Construction issued Directive 01/CT-BXD on the organization of Lunar New Year and strengthening measures to ensure that the Lunar New Year in 2025 is joyful, healthy, safe, and economical.
To adequately prepare the conditions for people to welcome the New Year 2025 and the Lunar New Year with joy, health, safety, and economy, and to promote the development of production and business in various fields at the end of 2024 and during the Lunar New Year in 2025, the Minister of Construction demands heads of agencies and units under the Ministry to disseminate to all officials and public employees, and workers in the agency, unit to strictly implement the following contents:
- Disseminate and seriously implement Directive 40-CT/TW in 2024 and Directive 45/CT-TTg in 2024 on strengthening measures to ensure that the Lunar New Year in 2025 is "Joyful, healthy, safe, and economical."
- The Department of Technical Infrastructure and relevant agencies, units under the Ministry, are to proactively cooperate with various Ministries, sectors, and localities to provide essential urban infrastructure services (clean water supply, waste collection and treatment, urban lighting...) ensuring convenience without affecting citizen's activities, especially during the Lunar New Year Holiday.
- Assign tasks reasonably, ensuring the quality and progress of work in agencies and units before and after the Lunar New Year holidays, completely resolving all tasks with a deadline, preventing delays in assigned tasks; focusing on implementing in time the summary of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of 2017, streamlining the organizational apparatus, making political systems effective and efficient; accelerating breakthroughs for successfully achieving socio-economic targets and tasks;
Do not let it affect the citizens in resolving administrative procedures under the management sector of the Ministry of Construction, allocate leading officials to be on duty at the agency, ready to resolve emerging tasks during the Lunar New Year holidays; ensure officials and public employees and workers rest during Lunar New Year as per legal provisions.
- Practice thrift, prevent wastefulness in using public assets of the agency, unit. Do not use the budget, vehicles, or public assets for personal activities during the Lunar New Year, festivals. Strictly follow the Government's directive of not giving gifts to leaders at all levels; do not extend Lunar New Year greetings to the Government, Ministries, sectors, and localities. Officials, public employees should not attend festivals during working hours; refrain from participating in superstitious activities; do not consume alcohol or beer when participating in traffic.
- Organize well the visiting, caring for, encouraging spirit, and providing material support to policy beneficiaries, retirees, destitute families, lonely or with special circumstances, families affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods; actively participate in Lunar New Year welcoming activities organized by localities.
- Build and assign the implementation of the Plan to ensure office security and safety, fire prevention and control; organize thorough cleaning, decorate agencies, and offices to be green, clean, and beautiful.
- Strictly implement information policies, report fully, promptly, and on time as requested by the Government, the Ministry of Construction, and other competent authorities.
- Heads of agencies and units under the Ministry must thoroughly disseminate and seriously organize the implementation of this Directive; take responsibility before the Minister for the implementation of assigned tasks and responsibilities. If problems arise, promptly reflect to the Ministry of Construction to be directed for timely resolution.
