Employment and Educational Opportunities after Graduation from College in Social Work

On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at intermediate and college levels in health and social service sectors.

According to the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge, the competence requirements that students must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level, and the college-level of social work, issued together with Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that after graduating with a college level in social work, students have the capacity to meet the requirements for the following job positions in the profession:

- School Social Work;- Elderly Social Work;- Child and Family Social Work;- Community Development;- Hospital Social Work;- Facility Social Work;- Disabled Social Work;- Addiction Social Work.

It also regulates the study potential and the capacity for enhancing proficiency for graduates from the college-level social work program as follows:

- The minimum volume of knowledge, the competence requirements that students must achieve after graduating from the college-level social work program can further develop at higher levels;- After graduation, students have the capacity for self-study, self-updating with scientific and technological advances within the scope of the profession to enhance proficiency or pursue higher education levels in the same profession or within the same group of professions or within the same field of training.
