Employees Conducting Tests Must Be Vaccinated

This is one of the regulations on personal protection and health monitoring in level II biological laboratories specified in Circular 37/2017/TT-BYT issued by the Ministry of Health on September 25, 2017.

Circular 37 stipulates that level II biological safety laboratories must fully comply with the following regulations:

- Use eye and face protection equipment (masks, goggles, face shields) when performing procedures that may generate splashes, aerosols during testing without using biological safety cabinets, procedures that may splatter chemicals, or procedures where there is a risk of exposure to ultraviolet sources;- Testing personnel must be vaccinated or use prophylactic medication related to the pathogens being handled in the laboratory, except in cases where the pathogen does not have a vaccine or prophylactic medication;- Laboratory staff who are pregnant; have infectious diseases or immunodeficiency; accidents affecting hand or foot mobility, or have open wounds must inform the laboratory manager to be assigned appropriate tasks.
