This is a noteworthy new content in Circular 56/2017/TT-BYT guiding the Law on Social Insurance and the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in the field of healthcare, officially effective from March 1, 2018.
Female employees who are pregnant and have stopped working for outpatient treatment when going for a prenatal check-up are only issued one maternity leave certificate (GCN). Note:
- In cases where the patient needs to rest for more than 30 days, by the end or near the end of the rest period recorded on the GCN, the patient must go for a re-examination for the practitioner to consider and decide;- In cases where the GCN for maternity leave is lost within 5 working days from the date the GCN was issued:- The individual who was issued the GCN must submit an application requesting the issuance of a duplicate maternity leave certificate and send it to the unit where the original GCN was issued;- Within 02 working days from the date of receiving the application for a duplicate maternity leave certificate, the unit that issued the original GCN is responsible for reissuing the duplicate maternity leave certificate.- In cases where the GCN is lost from the 6th working day onwards since the GCN was issued, the procedure for requesting the issuance of a maternity leave certificate must be restarted from the beginning.
