Duties of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in objectives, programs, and educational content

The Ministry of Education and Training is an agency of the Government of Vietnam, performing the function of state management over educational institutions. The duties and powers of the MOET regarding the goals, programs, and content of education are stipulated as follows:

1. Stipulate educational and training objectives in accordance with educational levels and training qualifications within the national education system under the state management of the ministry;

2. Promulgate preschool education, general education, and continuing education programs;

3. Issue, update, and guide the list of education and training at the level IV for primary pedagogy, college pedagogy, university, master's, and doctoral degrees; training regulations and training cooperation;

4. Stipulate the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners achieve after graduating from primary pedagogy, college pedagogy, university, master's, and doctoral degrees; the process for developing, appraising, and promulgating training programs at primary pedagogy, college pedagogy, university, master's, and doctoral levels; the compulsory subjects in the training programs for educational institutions of higher education with foreign investment.
