On November 5, 2012, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 90/2012/ND-CP stipulating the organization and activities of the internal affairs inspection sector.
Duties and authorities of the advisory department of specialized inspection in Vietnam (Illustrative image)
According to Article 10 of Decree 90/2012/ND-CP, the advisory department of specialized inspection under the Central Emulation and Reward Board, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, is organized as a Department. The advisory department assists the Head of the agency assigned to carry out the function of specialized inspection with the following tasks:
- Preside and cooperate with related units under its agency to develop inspection programs and plans for submission to the Head of the direct managing agency;
- Conduct planned inspections, regular inspections, and unscheduled inspections when assigned by the Head of the agency;
- Handle complaints, denunciations, and anti-corruption activities according to legal regulations when assigned;
- Synthesize, assess, and report the results of specialized inspection work; handle complaints, denunciations, and anti-corruption activities;
- Monitor, urge, and check the implementation of conclusions, recommendations, and decisions on inspection by the Head of the agency assigned to carry out the function of specialized inspection;
- Handle within its authority or recommend competent state agencies to handle violations of the law detected through inspection activities;
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head of the agency and according to legal regulations.
Note: The Minister of Home Affairs of Vietnam specifies the duties and authorities of the advisory department of specialized inspection under the Central Emulation and Reward Board, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.
