Regarding this issue, LawNet would like to answer as follows:
On December 5, 2023, the Prime Minister issued Decision 1573/QD-TTg approving the Planning for the system of defense and security education centers for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2045.
Specifically, the distribution of the defense and security education center system by socio-economic region will be implemented as follows:
(1) Northern midlands and mountainous areas
- Quantity
By 2030, there will be 07 Defense and Security Education centers, including:
+ Continue to maintain operations and invest in and upgrade 06 defense and security education centers that have been planned and established before 2021, including the following defense and security education centers: Military School of Military Region 1, College of Defense Industry, Hung Vuong University, Tay Bac University, Ngo Gia Tu College, Thai Nguyen University;
+ Established 01 new center: Defense and Security Education Center, Lao Cai College.
- Training capacity
Training capacity of 07 Defense and Security Education centers: 80,000 students/year, of which:
+ Training capacity of 06 defense and security education centers planned and established before 2021: 75,000 students/year;
+ Training capacity of 01 newly planned Defense and Security Education Center: 5,000 students/year.
(2) Red River Delta
- Quantity
By 2030, there will be 14 Defense and Security Education centers, including:
+ Continue to maintain operations and invest in and upgrade 11 Defense and Security Education Centers that have been planned and established before 2021, including the following Defense and Security Education Centers: Military School of Military Region 2, Military School of Military Region 3, Military School of Hanoi Capital Command, Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, Hanoi University of Education 2, Hanoi University of Industry, Water Resources University, Vietnam Maritime University, Hai Phong University, Hanoi National University;
+ Established 03 new centers, including the Center for Defense and Security Education: Trade Union University, the University of Labor and Social Affairs, and the University of Industrial Economics and Technology.
- Training capacity
Training capacity of 14 Defense and Security Education centers: 305,000 students/year, of which:
+ Training capacity of 11 Defense and Security Education centers planned and established before 2021: 245,000 students/year;
+ Training capacity of 03 newly planned Defense and Security Education Centers: 60,000 students/year.
(3) North Central and Central Coast regions
- Quantity
By 2030, there will be 11 Defense and Security Education centers, including:
+ Continue to maintain operations and invest in and upgrade 10 Defense and Security Education Centers that have been planned and established before 2021, including the Defense and Security Education Center: Military School of Military Region 4, Military School of Military Region 5, Military School of Army Corps 3, Information Officer School, Vinh University, Hong Duc University, Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, Quy Nhon University, Nha Trang University, Hue University;
+ Established 01 new center: Center for Defense and Security Education, Pham Van Dong University in Quang Ngai.
- Training capacity
Training capacity of 11 Defense and Security Education centers: 140,000 students/year, of which:
+ Training capacity of 10 Defense and Security Education centers planned and established before 2021: 130,000 students/year;
+ Training capacity of 01 newly planned Defense and Security Education Center: 10,000 students/year.
(4) Central Highlands region
- Quantity:
By 2030, there will be 02 Defense and Security Education Centers: Continue to maintain operations and invest in and upgrade 02 centers planned and established before 2021, including the Defense and Security Education Centers: Tay Nguyen University, Da Lat University.
- Training capacity:
Training capacity of 02 Defense and Security Education centers: 25,000 students/year.
(5) Southeast region
- Quantity
By 2030, there will be 08 Defense and Security Education centers, including:
+ Continue to maintain operations, invest, and upgrade 06 defense and security education centers that have been planned and established before 2021, including the following defense and security education centers: Military School of Military Region 7, Military School of Army Corps 4, Military School of Ho Chi Minh City Command, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City National University;
+ Established 02 new Centers for Defense and Security Education, including the Center for Defense and Security Education: Thu Dau Mot University and Ba Ria - Vung Tau College of Engineering and Technology.
- Training capacity
Training capacity of 08 defense and security education centers: 246,000 students/year.
+ Training capacity of 06 Defense and Security Education centers planned and established before 2021: 215,000 students/year;
+ Training capacity of 02 newly planned Defense and Security Education Centers: 31,000 students/year.
(6) Mekong Delta region
- Quantity
By 2030, there will be 4 Defense and Security Education centers, including:
+ Continue to maintain operations, invest in, and upgrade 03 centers. Defense and Security Education has been planned and established before 2021, including defense and security education centers: Military School of Military Region 9, Can Tho University, Tra Vinh University;
+ Established 01 new center: Defense and Security Education Center, Can Tho College of Economics and Technology.
- Training capacity
Training capacity of 04 Defense and Security Education centers: 80,000 students/year.
+ Training capacity of 03 Defense and Security Education Centers planned and established before 2021: 65,000 students/year;
+ Training capacity of 01 newly planned Defense and Security Education Center: 15,000 students/year.
