Recently, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 117/2009/TT-BQP on regulations for professional intermediate training in grassroots military in Vietnam.

Regulations on development of Plan for professional Intermediate training in grassroots military in Vietnam according to Circular 117/2009/TT-BQP are as follows:

+ Intermediate Training Program

- The intermediate professional military level training program (hereafter referred to as the intermediate program) outlines the training objectives for the intermediate professional military level; specifies the standards of knowledge, skills, scope, and structure of the training content, methods and forms of training, and evaluation methods for the training results for each subject, intermediate professional level throughout the course; ensures requirements for linkage with other training programs.

- The specific training program of the Provincial Military School is built on the basis of the detailed intermediate professional military level training program issued by the Minister of National Defense.

+ Credit Units and Modules

- A credit unit is a unit used to calculate the study load of the students. One credit unit is defined as 15 theoretical hours; 30 to 45 hours of practice, discussion, experiments; 45 to 60 hours of internship, graduation internship. One theoretical or practical session has a duration of 45 minutes.

- A module is a relatively complete block of knowledge and skills, convenient for students to accumulate knowledge during the study process. A module consists of 2 to 5 credit units, organized and evenly distributed within a semester. Knowledge in each module corresponds to a level and is structured distinctly as part of a subject or as parts of a combination of multiple subjects. The Commanding Officer of the provincial military command stipulates, or authorizes the Principal of the Military School to stipulate specifically the number of sessions and hours for each module, suitable to the characteristics of each course.

+ Building the entire course training plan

- Based on the project, directive of the Commanding Officer of the provincial military command; the framework program of the Ministry of Education and Training and the detailed program issued by the Ministry of National Defense, the Military School cooperates with the Provincial Political School and related agencies of the province to build the entire course training plan.

- The entire course plan must be approved by the provincial People's Committee or signed by the Commanding Officer of the provincial military command.

+ Monthly training plan

- The training plan is led by the Training Committee - Training of the Military School in cooperation with the Provincial Political School's Training Department and approved by the Principal of the Provincial Military School, and sent to the committees, departments, and teaching faculties before the 20th of each month.

- The training plan is built monthly, divided into weeks and days; each day is scheduled for 10 sessions, each session 45 minutes.

- The training plan arrangement must be scientific, logical, and reasonable between lessons in each subject; previous subjects (lessons) serve for subsequent subjects (lessons); between theory and practice, between techniques and tactics; between practice fields and classrooms, balancing mental and physical activities.

- Allocate a gap between subjects and lessons appropriately so that in one week there are no more than three subject or lesson tests.

- After completing a subject, the knowledge load must be scheduled for testing or examination within no more than 5 days.
