Determination of the area exclusively for common classrooms with less than 100 seats

Recently, the Minister of Education and Training issued Circular 03/2020/TT-BGDDT detailing regulations and guidance on standards and norms for the use of public works areas in the field of education and training.

To ensure that the number of classrooms meets the training scale of the training institution, the standards, norms, and calculation methods to determine the specialized area for regular classrooms with fewer than 100 seats are implemented according to Clause 4, Article 5 of Circular 03/2020/TT-BGDDT, specifically as follows:

The specialized area of classrooms is determined as follows:

SPH = SCN1 + SCN2 + ··· + SCNn

Where: SPH is the total specialized area of regular classrooms with fewer than 100 seats, measured in square meters;

SCN1, SCN2,… SCNn are the specialized areas of classrooms for each specialized field, determined as follows:

Where: CN1, CN2,..CNn are the number of specialized training fields;

i is the ordinal number of the academic year of students in a specialized field;

T is the total number of theoretical hours of 1 student in the i-th year of a specialized field;

A is the total number of students in the i-th year of a specialized field;

Additionally, 160 is the maximum number of learning hours in an academic year that one seating capacity can achieve, calculated based on a 1-year program consisting of 2 semesters, each semester lasting 15 weeks, each week consisting of 6 days, and each day having a maximum of 12 lecture hours; K is the area norm, measured in square meters.

Training institutions, based on these regulations, develop standards and norms for the use of specialized areas, submit them to the direct higher authority for issuance or request authorization for issuance.

See the full text of the regulation at Circular 03/2020/TT-BGDDT, effective from March 27, 2020.
