Determination of Project for Replicating Poverty Reduction Models

On October 9, 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Circular 18/2017/TT-BNNPTNT specifying the determination of projects to expand poverty reduction models.

Accordingly, Ministries, sectors, and localities shall, based on actual conditions, select, develop, and expand the following poverty reduction models:

- Expand effective poverty reduction models suitable to the conditions and advantages of each region; models linking production development, processing, and consumption of products between poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households, communities, and enterprises; poverty reduction models integrated with strengthening national defense and security;- Develop and expand public employment creation models through the implementation of small-scale infrastructure investment projects in villages and hamlets (small irrigation systems, roads, public welfare facilities, facilities serving production); agricultural and forestry production models combined with job creation for the poor linked with afforestation and forest protection; natural disaster risk reduction models and climate change adaptation;- Develop and expand industrial and service development models (support for workshops, machinery, equipment, tools, production materials; support for enterprises, cooperatives linking with the poor in production development, vocational development, processing, and consumption of products).
