Details of the Procedure for Reviewing Applications for Issuance of Journalist Cards

At the end of 2016, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular 49/2016/TT-BTTTT detailing and guiding the dossiers, procedures for issuance, renewal, reissuance, and revocation of press cards.

According to Circular 49/2016/TT-BTTTT, the procedure for reviewing the application for the issuance of a journalist's card is implemented as follows:

- The agency requesting the issuance of a journalist's card shall send the application before November 1 and April 21 of each year and at least 120 days prior to the expiration date specified on the journalist's card to the following agencies:- Journalism Department for subjects under print media, electronic media, state management agencies on journalism, journalists' associations at all levels, and lecturers specializing in journalism;- Broadcasting, Television, and Electronic Information Authority for subjects operating in the field of broadcasting and television.- The Ministry of Information and Communications only considers issuing journalist's cards for valid applications and lists requesting the issuance of journalist's cards.- The Ministry of Information and Communications directly delivers the cards to representatives of central press agencies and sends the journalist's cards to the Departments of Information and Communications for delivery to provincial and municipal press agencies under central authority.

Review the application for the issuance of journalist's cards at Circular 49/2016/TT-BTTTT, effective from February 15, 2017.
